There are not enough hours in the day. My attention is divided between all the things I'm trying to do, all the things I'm thinking about doing, and all the guilt I have for not doing the things that I want to do/think I should be doing. It's slightly maddening.
Like this blog. I like my blog. I like the idea of having a blog. I have lots of ideas of what to write on a blog. But for the life of me I cannot manage keep up with a blog! When I evaluate the list of things that I want to get done in a day "update blog" is usually really far down on the bottom ... under sit and do nothing (but, to be fair, I really like sitting and doing nothing), play with my son, surf the internet, craft, and sleep.
But I'm not ready to give up on my blog ... oh no. I'm too stubborn ... and eventually I will have the time. Maybe when Jack goes to college, or when we win the lottery and I become one of those super cute hipster stay at home moms who's blogs I'm obsessed with, or when I manage to live on less sleep.
Until then ... I guess I'll just have to make peace with the fact that I'm not going to be able to do everything.
Poo.

Photo-A-Day Day 9: Daily Routine
We live in a one bedroom condo and we are out of space. In an effort to give ourselves more space and buy a few more years in our house we recently had a murphy bed built in our dinning room. So every evening our dinner room starts as this:
And after we move everything out of the way ... it turns into this:
It's a little bit of effort to "put the bed away" every morning and my pillows do tend to smell like bacon occasionally ... but given the state of housing prices this is really the best option for us right now. And it gives us a separate space from Jack which, now that he's getting older, is a very good thing.

Photo-A-Day Day 8: Your Sky
This was not my sky today. This was Friday as I was leaving work. This has been a very non-Chicago like winter so far (not that I'm complaining). I love that we've had no major snow and it hasn't been freeze my face off cold. Friday, the temperature got to almost 60 degrees in some places and it felt like we got a small piece of spring.

Photo-A-Day Day 7: Favourite
Did I mention that Fat Mum Slim is from Australia? Silly people and their u's. :-) I had to ask Tom for help for my "favourite" picture today and the first thing out of his mouth, no hesitation, was "your purse." And how right he is!! I love my purse! There's something about the quilty, floral, pocket-madness goodness of Vera Bradley that I just can't escape!! I've bought several purses in the past year yet this is one I keep coming back to. I <3 you purse!

Photo-A-Day Day 5: Something You Wore
I love these shoes. Tom bought them for me at little independent shoe store in St. Louis. They are so comfortable. They are intended to be worn barefoot, which is how I prefer to wear to them ... but as you can see they are starting to get kind of gross looking ... and MAN! do they make my feet smell!!!

Photo-A-Day Day 4: Letterbox
Nothing too exciting about this one ... this is my mailbox. It's small. I don't think I've had a mailbox this small since college. All magazines and catalogs are folded in half and it's hard to get mail out if it. But ... it holds mail. So I suppose it does it's job.
